It’s being reported that a former USA Gymnastics coach, banned from coaching in member gyms for life, is now coaching in Michigan. Convicted sex offender Paul Hagan is coaching gymnastics at Aerials and Baranis in Plainfield Township leading some to question Michigan sex offender registry laws. Hagan was convicted in 1994 of touching a 13-year-old gymnast’s breast. He served time in prison for the offense and has finished his parole. But he’s still required to register as a sex offender. But since Aerials and Baranis isn’t a member of USA Gymnastics, Hagan can still coach there. Wood TV 8 is reporting that USA Gymnastics is looking into its policies.
